Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Walter Lowe played in the minor leagues from 1937 to 1949, missing the 1945 season. He played exclusively in far western league, mostly the Pacific Coast League and the Pioneer League.
Lowe made the PL all-star team in 1940, leading the league with 171 hits and 121 ribbies and tying for the league lead with 22 homers. He returned the PL all-star team in 1947 when he missed the triple crown by .003 in average. He led the league with 22 HR and 157 RBI while hitting .357 to league leader Tom O'Laughlin's .360.
