Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Walt Genin played in the minor leagues on-and-off from 1920 to 1931. He hit .300 for the first time in 1922, when he batted exactly .300 with 162 hits in 140 games between the Des Moines Boosters and Tacoma Tigers. He reached the mark again in 1924, when he hit .307 with 142 hits in 120 games for the Albany Senators. In 1929, he managed the Rock Island Islanders for the initial part of the campaign, being replaced by Buck Wheat partway through the campaign.
