Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Wally Bryan was signed by the Cleveland Indians for a $570,000 bonus; he claimed to be a 16-year-old named Jose Ozoria when he was really 20 years old. He hit .262/.336/.306 with 65 hits, 38 runs scored, 24 RBI and seven stolen bases in 65 games for the DSL Indians that summer (fielding .921) then was suspended a year for his false identity.

He died on November 9, 2012 at age 23 from dengue fever.
