Virgil Yelkin
Virgil Yelkin was 439-196 as head coach of the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 1947-1973. He also served as a major in the US Army (which conflicts did he serve in?) He guided his team to the 1959 NAIA College World Series, 1960 NAIA College World Series, 1961 NAIA College World Series, 1965 NAIA College World Series and 1966 NAIA College World Series. He coached for Team USA in the 1967 Pan American Games, when they won their only baseball Gold Medal (through 2014).
