Biographical Information[edit]

Vincent Blue was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 10th round of the 2001 Amateur Draft out of Lamar High School. He played in the Tigers' minor league system from 2001-2007 and briefly reached AAA before his release in the middle of 2007. In his seven minor league seasons he hit .261/.339/.324 while playing in over 500 games. After his release, Blue moved to the independent leagues and continued playing through the 2012 season.

Since completing his playing career, Blue has worked with youth baseball training programs. Blue is the current owner of BE Elite Baseball, a youth travel academy, and is a founder of the Universal Baseball Players Association.

The Houston Astros hired Blue as a Development Coach for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in 2022 and Corpus Christi Hooks in 2023-2024. After the 2023 season he was a coach for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League.
