Biographical Information[edit]

Diminutive infielder Victor Nova was signed by the San Diego Padres out of the Dominican Republic on April 26, 2017. He only made his playing debut a year later, with the DSL Padres, where he hit .188 in 38 games while playing 2B, 3B and the outfield. In 2019, he moved to the U.S. with the AZL Padres, where he hit .330 in 26 games while seeing most of his action at 3B. On July 30th, he was sent to the Cleveland Indians in a blockbuster trade that also involved the Cincinnati Reds; the major names in that deal were P Trevor Bauer, who ended up in Cincinnati; OFs Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes, who went to the Indians; and OF prospect Taylor Trammell, who went to the Padres.
