Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Victor McBean was the cousin of Al McBean -- a number of newspaper reports described him as the younger brother of the hurler from St. Thomas. Vic pitched 16 games in rookie ball for the San Francisco Giants organization in 1964. The 18-year-old gave up 45 hits (including six homers) and 21 walks in 37 innings. That fueled a 1-5 record and 5.84 ERA; McBean did not return to the minors in 1965. José Morales also remembered Vic as "a little crazy."
