Biographical Information[edit]

Victor Croneld has played in the Elitserien and for the Swedish national team.

Croneld debuted with the 2012 Sundbyberg Heat, going 2 for 13. [1] He started for Sweden in the 2012 European Junior Championship Qualifier, hitting .267/.353/.467 with five runs in five games. [2]

He produced at a .271/.328/.338 clip in '13. [3] The next year, he hit .261/.340/.380. [4] He batted .303/.323/.454 for the 2015 Heat. [5] He was a regular for Sweden in the 2015 B-Level European Championship and hit .273/.385/.273; the country won to retain their spot in the European Championship. [6]

Victor hit .314/.428/.371 in 2016 [7] and .257/.383/.278 in 2017, tying for 4th in walks (20) and runs (29). He stole 22 bases in 26 tries, finishing third in swipes (behind Shane Salley and Ben Johnson). [8]

At age 24, he batted .411/.475/.566. He was 4th in average, 5th in OBP, 5th in slugging and 5th in hits (37). He tied for 3rd with 12 steals (in 17 tries). [9] In 2019, he was down to .271/.295/.373 but was 18-for-21 in steals, finishing 2nd in stolen bases. [10]

He then made Sweden's squad for the 2019 European Championship, backing up Peter Johannessen in left. He debuted as a pinch-hitter for Joel Johnson in a blowout loss to the Netherlands and struck out against Diegomar Markwell. Coming in during a loss to Czechia, he was retired by Lukáš Hlouch. He started against Great Britain. He laid down a sacrifice against Richard Brereton and later drew a walk from him and scored. Facing former major leaguer Michael Roth in the 6th, he singled in Elvis Hammarstedt and came around to score again. He was retired by Roth his last trip up. [11]

In 2020, he hit .265/.329/.417 and tied for 6th with 23 runs. [12]
