Biographical Information[edit]
Vic Saier played for the Chicago Cubs from 1911 to 1917, in between their pennants of 1910 and 1918. A first baseman, he had some good years, twice posting an Adjusted OPS of at least 140. He was managed by each of Frank Chance, Joe Tinker and Johnny Evers, and was also their teammate early in his career.
He led the National League in triples in 1913, and was second in home runs in 1914. He worked in a defense plant during World War I.
