The Vaqueros de Monteria (Monteria Cowboys) are a member of the Colombian League, playing their first season in 1984-85. In 1999-2000 they relocated to Barranquilla and won the championship. The Vaqueros de Monteria resurfaced in 2019-20, once again based in Monteria, and won the championship in their first season back.

They became the first Colombian League team to play in the Caribbean Series in 2020 (after the Cuban entry ran into visa problems and had to withdraw) but lost all five of their games. They hit only .138/.209/.166 with six runs and were shut out in three of five games, though they did have solid pitching (3.51 ERA). Arvicent Perez hit a team-best .231/.286/.231 while Randy Consuegra (2 H, 0 R in 5 2/3 IP), Edgar De La Rosa (1 H, 0 R in 5 IP) and Pedro Echemendia (0-1, 1 UER in 5 IP) had 0 ERAs.

After winning their third Colombian pennant in the 2022-23 season, they had another shot at the Caribbean Series. This time, they significantly improved, winning 4 matches out of 9 played, en route to a 4th place in the championship.
