Vancouver Asahi
The Vancouver Asahi was a baseball team in Vancouver, BC from 1914-1941, formed of Japanese Canadians from all over the area. The team won several titles but disbanded after Canada interned all people of Japanese descent after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The team was inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. The team's biggest star and long-time manager, Roy Yamamura, was later inducted in the Canadian Hall of Fame on an individual basis in 2021.
