Biographical Information[edit]
Víctor Álvarez allowed 2 runs in 4 innings for Mexico in the 2006 COPABE qualifiers for the 2008 Olympics. Mexico did not get a spot in the Olympics but did make it to the next phase, the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. Álvarez was 1-1 with a 16.20 ERA in that event, allowing 9 hits in 5 innings and having the highest ERA on the Mexican staff. He took a loss against Team Canada and beat the Spanish national team.
Álvarez was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, when Mexico won Bronze.
