Utica Stars

From BR Bullpen

In 1892 the struggling Syracuse Stars of the Eastern League moved to Utica, NY in the second half and became the Utica Stars but the team was dropped when the Elmira Gladiators folded. Syracuse-Utica went 24-36 under manager Jay Faatz. Joe Knight spent part of the year with the team and led the league in average (.324), hits (84) and doubles (17). Coughlin (either Roscoe Coughlin or Bill Coughlin) was 14-8 with a 1.39 ERA as the club ace.
