Biographical Information[edit]

Tzu-Wei Lin pitched in the CPBL.

Lin represented Taiwan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, going 5-for-9 with a walk and a double. On the mound, he was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA, losing to Max Rajcic of the US. In the field, he caught the final putout in the title game win over the USA. The Rakuten Monkeys drafted him in the 2nd round of the 2020 CPBL Draft. He debuted on November 5, 2021, and he got the win against CTBC Brothers. Lin was the youngest pitcher to get a win as a starter in CPBL history. He ended up 2-0 with a 3.12 ERA in 2021, but he slumped to 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 2022. Lin pitched 2 1/3 shutout innings in the 2022 Taiwan Series Game 3, but the Monkeys were swept by the Brothers. Lin underwent the Tommy John surgery, and he missed most of his 2023 season.

Lin's repertoire included a fastball (peak 89.4 mph), curveball, changeup and slider.
