Tyler Roughnecks
The Tyler, TX team in the short-lived All-American Association was the Tyler Roughnecks. In 2001 the Roughnecks were 39-32 for manager Steve Maddock, finishing third in the league. DH Malvin Matos (.375) was second in the league in batting average, while OF-1B Michael Kirkpatrick was the team's lone All-Star (as an outfielder). Kirkpatrick hit .293 and led the team in runs (47), doubles (20) and triples (5). Closer Rich Turrentine fanned 50 batters in 30 innings and went 0-1 with 18 saves and a 1.19 ERA.
