Tyler Jeske

Biographical Information[edit]

Tyler Jeske did not play baseball in either college or professionally. He graduated from the University of Akron in 2013 with a degree in Communication and Media Studies. During the summers of 2011-2013 he also worked as a minor league video intern with the Cleveland Indians AA team, the Akron Aeros.

Jeske's path to becoming a minor league coach followed an unusual path. He started 2014 working as a Coordinator of Baseball Video Operations for the Mississippi State University Bulldogs while in graduate school. He returned to the Indians organization during the summer working with the team's Dominican Republic Video Operations staff. Jeske spent the latter part of 2014 with the Texas Rangers as an assistant in international operations. He remained in this role through the 2015 season. In 2016 Jeske joined the Missouri State University Bears as the Video Coordinator. He was promoted to Director of Baseball Operations in 2017 and remained in this role through 2018.

In 2019 the Los Angeles Angels hired Jeske to coach hitters for the AZL Angels. He was slated to return to this position in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. He stayed with the Angels in 2021 as the ACL Angels hitting coach.

Jeske returned to the college ranks in 2022 as an assistant coach for the Lackawanna College Falcons. During the summer he served as the head coach for the Medicine Hat Mavericks, a summer collegiate team in the Canadian Western Major Baseball League. This stint as a college coach only lasted one year.

The Oakland Athletics hired Jeske in 2023 as a hitting coach for the ACL Athletics. The next year he was again out of affiliated ball and worked as an assistant coach for an independent Pioneer League team, the Missoula PaddleHeads.
