Biographical Information[edit]
Tunney Brooks was captain of the Wake Forest baseball and basketball teams when Wake Forest's baseball team was chosen as Team USA for the 1951 Pan American Games. They won a Silver Medal. He had a brief pro career, hitting .168/?/.238 in 32 games for the 1953 Mooresville Moors. He was baseball, basketball, football and golf coach at Lumberton High School from 1959-1989.
His brother Bill Brooks also played in the minors before coaching, Bill doing so at the college level.
