Biographical Information[edit]

The son of former major league infielder Tim Hulett, second baseman Tug Hulett was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 14th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He reached the AAA level in 2007 with the Oklahoma RedHawks. Following the 2007 season, he was traded to the Seattle Mariners for Ben Broussard. He was called up to the big leagues on July 10, 2008 and made his debut two days later. He appeared in 30 games for the Mariners, hitting .224, then in 2009 had another 15 games with the Kansas City Royals after being claimed off waivers, but hit just .111.

His brother, Jeff Hulett, was drafted in 2008. Another brother, Joe Hulett, played in 2007.
