Biographical Information[edit]

Tsung-Ju Yu pitched in the CPBL for 5 years.

Yu was drafted by the Lamigo Monkeys in the 4th round of the 2015 CPBL Draft, and he had a 9.62 ERA in 26 appearances in 2016. He struggled again in 2017 as his ERA was 6.75 in 18 relief outings, and he spent his 2018 season in the minor league. Yu collected a league-leading 6 holds in 2018, and his ERA was 3.44 in 27 games. He was released after the 2018 season, and he pitched for amateur teams for a year. The Wei Chuan Dragons signed him in 2020, and he led the minor league with 19 holds and 9 wins while having a 4.28 ERA in 44 games. Yu’s ERA was 17.05 in 8 games in 2021, and he announced his retirement after the 2022 season.

Yu's repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.2 mph), sinker, curveball, changeup]] and slider.

Overall, Yu was 3-1 with a 10.47 ERA ,pitched 55 innings and struck out 26 in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
