Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Troy Scribner became the first major league player to come from Sacred Heart University. He is the brother of Evan Scribner.

While he is righthanded, his repertoire of pitches is akin to that of a prototypical crafty lefthander. His fastball tops out at 89 mph, but his two best pitches are a change-up that registers around 80 mph and a slow curve ball that he throws at 69 mph. He tries to keep hitters off-balance by mixing the three pitches and keeping the fastball away from the center of the strike zone.
