Biographical information[edit]

Troy Aleshire is a former minor league catcher who played in the Houston Astros system from 1985 to 1987. He was drafted by the Astros in the fifth round of the 1985 amateur draft and signed by scout David Lakey.

He began his professional career in 1985 with the GCL Astros, hitting .213 in 40 games. He split 1986 between the Auburn Astros (45 games) and Osceola Astros (two games), hitting .193 in 135 at-bats. In 1987, he played for the Auburn Astros and Asheville Tourists, hitting .197 in 49 games.

Overall, he hit .200 (74 for 370) 136 minor league games, over the course of three seasons.
