Biographical Information[edit]
Trot Nixon's father, William, grew up with Catfish Hunter, and was Hunter's high school catcher (according to the 1994 Almanac).
He appeared in the movie Fever Pitch as himself.
In a newspaper interview Nixon called Alex Rodriguez a clown in response to A-Rod's claims of a superior work ethic in Sports Illustrated.
On July 15, 2005, Nixon hit an inside-the-park three-run homer in a 17-1 Boston Red Sox victory against the New York Yankees in Fenway Park.
He was bench coach of the Czech national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers.
