Biographical Information[edit]
Travis Hergert played baseball at Kirkwood Community College and Mount Mercy College. He graduated in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in public relations, advertising, and applied communications.
Hergert joined the college coaching ranks in August 2004 at North Iowa Area Community College and stayed there through 2019. He served as an assistant coach from 2005-2012 and as the head coach from 2013-2019. Hergert was 260-146-1 in his seven seasons at the helm of the NIACC baseball program and led the Trojans to three NJCAA Region XI titles, three NJCAA North Plains District titles and three trips to the NJCAA Division II World Series.
The Philadelphia Phillies hired Hergert in 2020 as a minor league assistant pitching coordinator. Hergert began 2021 in the same role but was promoted to minor league pitching coordinator in March on an interim basis. The interim tag was removed a couple of months later and Hergert has served as the Phillies minor league pitching coordinator through the 2024 season.
