Tovar, Merida

Tovar is located in the province of Merida, in western Venezuela, in a mountainous region of the Cordillera de Merida, the northern edge of the Andes Mountains. It is approximately 200 miles south of Maracaibo, Zulia, on the border of Táchira province. Winston Márquez and Johan Santana were born here. Liceo Jose Nucete Sardi is here.
