Toshiyuki Hesaka pitched in the independent leagues, NPB and CPBL.
Hesaka was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 4th round of the 1998 NPB draft, and he had a 3.22 ERA in 16 appearances in 1999. His ERA was 0.96 in 7 games in 2000, and he only pitched 2 games in 2001. After having a 2.84 ERA in 9 games in 2002, Hesaka was released and he signed with the Chinatrust Whales of Taiwan. He recorded a 9.00 ERA in 6 games in 2003, then he recorded a 6.35 ERA in 10 games for the Victoria Capitals. Hesaka announced his retirement after that season.
Overall, Hesaka was 0-2 with a 2.88 ERA, struck out 23 and pitched 40 2/3 innings in 4 years in NPB.
