Biographical Information[edit]

Torrey Jacoby was once drafted. His father Brook Jacoby played in the majors and his grandfather Brook Jacoby Sr. was in the minors.

Jacoby hit .408 as a high school junior and .464 as a senior, winning All-State both times. The Arizona Diamondbacks took him in the 40th round of the 2007 amateur draft. He went on to college and was 5 for 22 with a double and a walk as a freshman in 2008. He was 6 for 18 with two doubles, a homer and a walk as a backup 1B and DH in 2009. In the summer, he batted .324 for the Liberal Beejays of the Jayhawk League. He hit .281/.309/.422 in 21 games as a junior at Pepperdine. His senior year, his batting line was .214/.278/.286.
