Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Tony Pierce played two seasons in the majors with the Kansas City Athletics and Oakland Athletics.
Signed by Kansas City prior to the 1964 season, Pierce went 13-8 with a 3.06 ERA in 23 starts for the Mobile A's in 1966. In 1967, he made the A's Opening Day roster and spent the entire season in the big leagues. He was 3-4 with a 3.04 ERA and 7 saves in 49 games that summer, mostly coming out of the bullpen. He followed the team to Oakland in 1968 and went 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 17 outings in what was his final pro season.
