Biographical Information[edit]
Signed by the legendary Epy Guerrero to the Toronto Blue Jays in 1983, lefty reliever Tony Castillo pitched ten big league seasons as a bullpen weapon. After missing all of 1992 with a stress fracture in his left leg, he won a World Series ring in 1993 with the Jays, going 3-2, 3.38 in 51 games (50 2/3 innings). Tony relied on a big curveball, pitching 403 games for four teams between 1988 and 1998 with an overall 28-23, 3.93 record and 22 saves in 526 2/3 innings.
