Biographical Information[edit]
Tony Auferio was a St. Louis Cardinals coach in 1973.
He was a catcher and third baseman in the minor leagues from 1965 to 1974, missing the 1966 season as well as 1973 when he was a big league coach. Almost all of this time was spent in the Cardinals organization, except for his first season, when he was with the FRL Braves, a Milwaukee Braves affiliate, and 1971, which he spent with the Trois-Rivières Aigles, in the Cincinnati Reds system. Most of his time was spent in Cklass A and AA. He only had two brief stints in AAA, both with the Tulsa Oilers of the American Association, in 1972 and 1974, for a total of 36 games.
