Thomas Telford

Tom Telford was a replacement umpire in the National League when the regular umpires were on strike at the start of the 1979 season. He worked a total of 16 games, all of them at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, PA. He was almost exclusively the second base or third base umpire, except for his final two games when he was respectively at first base and behind the plate. He later was Vice President of Mobilization for United World Mission and wrote two books on missionary work.
