Biographical Information[edit]
Tom Tango is a sabermetrician and author of the book The Book: Playing the Percentages in Baseball. Mitchel Lichtman, Andrew Dolphin and Pete Palmer also contributed to the book. He developed fielding independent pitching among other metrics. He first published his work on Baseball Think Factory.
He has worked for the Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs. In 2016, he joined MLB Advanced Media as its first Senior Database Architect of Stats.
The name "Tom Tango" is an alias; his real name is not public. In 2020 he was honored with the Henry Chadwick Award.
