Biographical Information[edit]
Honest Tom Niland played 18 games for the 1896 St. Louis Browns. He was in right field, left field and at shortstop. Usually called "Tommy", he was sometimes referred to as "Latham's protege" by the press.
His most famous teammate was the 38-year-old Roger Connor.
Niland also played several years in the New England League and in the Western League, along with one year in the Connecticut State League.
