Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Tom Hardgrove was taken in the 12th round of the 1989 amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies after being taken by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 39th round of the 1986 amateur draft. He hit .286/.379/.539 with 13 home runs and 45 RBI in 61 games for the Martinsville Phillies in 1989, but slumped to .205/.316/.302 with 5 home runs and 47 RBI in 92 games for the Spartanburg Phillies in 1990 to end his professional career.
