Biographical Information

Tom Fleming began umpiring in the Piedmont League in 1946. He then worked in the Southern League from 1947 to 1950 and in the International League from 1951 to 1953. Two decades later, at the start of the 1979 season, he umpired one National League game during the regular umpires' strike. Away from baseball, he worked in pharmaceutical sales.
