Biographical information[edit]

Tom Edwards was a minor league infielder who played in 2008 and 2009.

Prior to playing professionally, Edwards played for Rutgers from 2006 to 2008. In 2006, he hit only .246 in 65 at-bats, however in 2007 he .340 with seven home runs and 48 RBI in 63 games. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 41st round of the 2007 amateur draft, but he did not sign. In 2008, he hit .285 in 48 games, and was drafted in the 28th round of that year's draft. He was signed by scout Keith Connolly.

He began his professional career with the Aberdeen IronBirds in 2008, hitting .219 with 57 strikeouts in 47 games. He hit .240 in 39 games for the IronBirds in 2009. Overall, he hit .229/.300/.271 with 65 hits in 86 games.
