Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Tom Dunovant played in the minor leagues for the Harlan Smokies of the Class D Mountain States League in 1950. He went 4-4, 4.05 in 11 games, but pitched one gem. On June 24th, he pitched a no-hitter against the Newport Canners, winning 7-0. The game was given additional prominence because the day before, Jose Aguiar, pitching for Newport, had also thrown a no-hitter, this one against the Big Stone Gap Rebels, one of two such games Aguiar would achieve that season.
