Biographical Information[edit]
Tom Clyde spent three seasons in pro baseball. The 19 year old pitcher spent May 31 through August 1, 1943 with the Philadelphia Athletics. He appeared in four games, pitching six innings with a 9.00 ERA. He spent parts of three seasons in the minors in 1943, 1947 and 1948, finishing his career with the Lincoln Athletics of the Class A Western League in 1948. He stood with a 1-2 record in six outings when he left. Tom had a minor league record of 3-18 in 37 games.
Tom served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a career insurance salesman for American United Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1993. He died of cancer on October 1, 2005 in Dallas and was interred in Lone Oak Cemetery at Lewisburg, TN.
