Toledo Iron Men

From BR Bullpen

After a two-year stay in Cleveland, OH, Toledo, OH got back its American Association team in 1916. Unlike all other AA teams in the city in the 20th century, the club was not known as the Toledo Mud Hens. Instead they were called the Toledo Iron Men for three years before they brought back the Mud Hens name. As the Iron Men, they finished sixth (78-86) in '16, last (57-95) in 1917 and last (23-54) in the war-shortened 1918 season. The .299 winning percentage in '18 was the second-lowest in Toledo's long history in the AA. In 1917, the team hit 8 homers in their 154 games and they batted just .221 in 1918.
