Biographical Information[edit]
Tim Plodinec was 2-0 for Team USA in the 1967 Pan American Games. It was the first tournament in which the US beat the Cuban national team in the Gold Medal game and the only Pan Am Games (through 2014) in which the US won Gold in baseball. Plodinec twice went the distance against Mexico, then had a no-decision in Game 2 of the finals against Cuba (RP Taylor Toomey lost it).
