Biographical Information[edit]

Tim McKercher is the younger brother of Bobby McKercher. A high school teammate of his brother and Barry Bonds, Tim was picked by the Seattle Mariners in the 8th round of the January 1985 draft out of junior college. He did not sign. In 1988, he played his one season of pro baseball with the Salt Lake City Trappers, hitting a stellar .371/.458/.470 for the independent club. Had he qualified (he was 35 plate appearances shy of the 189 required), he would have been 4th in the Pioneer League in average, between Kelly Zane and Eric Karros. He was only .009 shy of OBP leader Kerry Shaw. Despite his success, he never played again.
