Biographical Information[edit]

Tim Lahey was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 20th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout John Wilson and made his pro debut that summer as a catcher. The next year Lahey was left back at extended spring training, so he asked if he could try pitching. Displaying a fastball in the mid-low 90's he was pitching in 2005.

Lahey was the first pick in the 2007 Rule 5 draft by the Tampa Bay Rays (from the Minnesota Twins). He was immediately traded to the Chicago Cubs before winding up with the Phillies towards the end of spring training. He made the club's opening day roster but was sent back to the Twins a week later without seeing game action.
