Biographical Information[edit]

Through an unlikely path to the major leagues, Tim Fortugno was signed as an amateur free agent by the Seattle Mariners in 1986. He then made his major league debut at age 30 with the California Angels on July 20, 1992. He played in the majors until 1995 and kicked around the minor leagues and internationally after that. He was with the Sinon Bulls in 1998 before becoming a scout following his playing career. He signed Jason Botts, Scott Feldman, Zach Phillips, C.J. Wilson and John Mayberry Jr.

Playing with the California Angels in 1992, Fortugno gave up George Brett's 3,000th hit, and promptly picked him off first base.
