Tim Corbin

Tim Corbin has been a longtime college coach.

Corbin was head coach at Presbyterian College from 1988-1993, going 106-138 while leading the team into NCAA Division II. Tim was an assistant coach at Clemson University from 1994-2002, helping the team to the College World Series four times. In 2000, he was named National Assistant Coach of the Year by both Baseball America and the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Tim became head coach at Vanderbilt University in 2003 and was 27-28 his first year. The school had not made the Southeastern Conference tournament in a decade prior to his arrival, but he took them to the tournament finale in 2004 as they won 45 games and finished second in NCAA Division I with a .978 fielding percentage. He helped develop Jeremy Sowers, the #6 pick in the 2004 amateur draft.

In 2005, Corbin's recruiting class was rated the best in the nation. His school was 38-27 in 2006. He managed Team USA to a Gold Medal in the 2006 World University Championship. Vanderbilt set a school record with 54 wins in 2007 and was ranked #1 in the country for the first time ever. He was named SEC Coach of the Year. That year, David Price became the first #1 draft pick overall in school history. The next year, Vanderbilt was 41-22 and Pedro Alvarez was the first college player taken in the 2008 amateur draft.

Corbin was 239-130 after six seasons at Vanderbilt.
