Biographical Information[edit]
Thomas Hackett, nicknamed "Tub," was a catcher who played in the minor leagues from 1902 to 1909 and from 1912 to 1913, including more than two seasons in the Pacific Coast League. Perhaps his best season was 1904, when he hit .301 in 107 games for the Keokuk Indians.
He was suspended in 1911 and spent 1912 in an outlaw league in California.
He managed the Quincy Gems for part of the 1913 season, being replaced by Nicholas Kahl.
His brother, Jim Hackett, played in the majors in 1902 and 1903, though they are not known to be part of the larger Clarkson/Hackett clan.
