Biographical Information[edit]
Terry Cooney began umpiring in the California League from 1969 to May 1970. He then moved to the Texas League for the rest of 1970 and the Pacific Coast League from 1971 to 1974. Cooney was then an American League umpire from 1974 to 1992. He worked three American League Championship Series, in 1978, 1986 and 1990, the 1981 World Series and the All-Star Game in 1979 and 1989.
