Terrance Whittle has been a college coach.

Whittle became head coach of Virginia State immediately after graduating from there; he had been team captain for his last two years. He also played football while in junior college at Chowan College. He was head coach of Virginia State from 1995-1998, winning one Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association title. During this period, he also was an associate scout for the Florida Marlins from 1996-1998. He then was head coach of the Regensburg Legionäre in 1999, going 25-9. He then was appointed head coach of Elizabeth City State University. He won his second CIAA Coach of the Year award in 2004 (having won in 1998 as well). He remained through 2014, when the school suspended baseball operations. He has been a MLB envoy coach in South Africa and Nigeria. He later was head coach of Stillman College, starting in 2018.
