November 15: Today's featured birthday is that of Randy Niemann, who turns 69.
- 1919 - The Reds complete their victory over the White Sox in the 1919 World Series. Lefty Williams, one of those conspiring to throw the Series, only retires one batter in the 1st inning in the 10-5 game.
- 1934 - Game 7 of the 1934 World Series is a walkover as Dizzy Dean and the Gashouse Gang get the better of the Tigers, 11-0, to wrap up the Series.
- 1938 - Behind the pitching of Red Ruffing, the Yankees beat the Cubs to win the 1938 World Series. It is a then-record third straight World Series won by one team.
- 1966 - The Orioles shut out the Dodgers for the third game in a row, setting a World Series record with 33 consecutive scoreless innings. Dave McNally (pictured) throws a four-hitter and Frank Robinson homers off Don Drysdale for a 1-0 victory as Baltimore wins the Series.
- 1988 - The Oakland Athletics complete a four-game sweep in the ALCS by beating the Boston Red Sox, 4-1. Jose Canseco ties a playoff record with his third home run of the Series and Dennis Eckersley sets a major league playoff mark with his fourth save.
