- 1985 - Bret Saberhagen throws a shutout in Game 7 of the 1985 World Series to give the Royals the title in the I-70 Series against the Cardinals.
- 1986 - The Mets rally for another win against the Red Sox to take the 1986 World Series in seven games.
- 1986 - Thanks to a tie in Game 1, the Japan Series goes eight games for the first time ever. Before just 16,828 fans, the Seibu Lions beat the Hiroshima Carp, 3-2. Hisanobu Watanabe gets the win, Kimiyasu Kudoh notches the save and Koji Akiyama homers.
- 1991 - The "Last-to-First" World Series ends with the first extra-inning Game 7 in 67 years. Jack Morris throws a ten-inning shutout and Gene Larkin (pictured) singles in the winner as the Twins top Atlanta to take the 1991 World Series.
- 1999 - The Braves lose their fourth World Series of the decade, tying the record, as the Yankees win the 1999 World Series. Roger Clemens is the pitching star in the finale of the four-game sweep.
