- 1911 - Cliff Curtis (pictured) loses his 23rd straight game, a record that will stand for over eight decades until Anthony Young breaks it.
- 1913 - The Yankees set the 20th Century record for most batters stranded in a shutout with 15 in a 7-0 loss to rookie Dwight Stone and the Browns.
- 1923 - In an up-and-down day, Cristobal Torriente hits for the cycle for the Chicago American Giants but then blows it when he relieves and throws two wild pitches to let both inherited runners score, losing the contest, 11-10, to the St. Louis Stars.
- 1955 - Akira Ogi sets a Pacific League record with six hits in a game.
- 1995 - On "Strike Out Domestic Violence Night", the Durham Bulls and Winston-Salem Warthogs get into a brawl that lasts over 30 minutes. A total of 124 games of suspensions will be issued, the Winston-Salem pitcher gets knocked unconscious and $6,000 in fines are charged.
