- 1897 - Catcher Duke Farrell (pictured) records a major league-record eight assists, but the Senators lose anyways to the Orioles, 6-3.
- 1923 - Vernon Tigers hitter Pete Schneider homers five times, doubles once and drives in 14 in a 35-11 rout of the Salt Lake City Bees, setting several Pacific Coast League records.
- 1971 - Steve Dunning cracks the last grand slam by an American League pitcher prior to the institution of the Designated Hitter rule. It will be 37 years before another AL pitcher hits a grand slam.
- 1999 - For the first time in 20th Century play in the majors, two opposing pitchers have the same first and last name as Bobby J. Jones and Bobby M. Jones square off.
- 2010 - Hyun-jin Ryu of the Hanwha Eagles sets a new Korea Baseball Organization record for strikeouts in a game by whiffing 17 LG Twins.
